In this video lesson I show you how to transition into thumb position. This technique if crucial if you want to start playing higher up the fingerboard with good intonation.

Upright bass thumb position technique is one of my most commonly requested topics, so this is the first part of an in depth series of lessons looking at the method I use. If you want to move high up the neck and reach your target note without playing it out of tune, then this lesson is for you!

I’m also joined at the start of the video by the superb guitarist Danny Maddocks. You can check out his You Tube Channel here: https://www.youtube.com/user/dannymaddocks

I hope you enjoy the New Lesson and if you have any lesson suggestions or feedback please let me know in the comments.

Enjoy your practice,
Cheers Geoff
